Landscapes of Inequalities (n. 178-179)

Lotus 179 (2025)

This double issue of Lotus is a meta-discourse on the 24th International Exhibition Inequalities,

held at the Milan Triennale between May and November 2025. Starting out from the idea of the
exhibition as a world, or as one of the possible representations of a global condition, Lotus tackles
the paradox of representing the representation, looking at it as if it were reflected in a mirror and
putting it to the test of a series of counterpoints to the official discourse it presented. What emerges
is a landscape that places the exhibition in an extended timeframe, as something that has congealed
moods and projected their effects, continuing to exist beyond the limited period of time in which
it occupied Giovanni Muzio’s Palazzo dell’Arte and to function in part through the persistence
of certain images.
