The research for this issue has focused on the contribution of the architectural discipline itself to the environmental regeneration of the city and of housing. Naturally it is not so easy to find among the resources of architecture the contents needed to inspire a process of regeneration. Without excluding other forms of reclamation of the environment, what architecture can show us with those resources and its long memory concerns a series of changes or new ways of understanding old processes, in order to form the new aesthetic of a civilization no longer given over solely to consumption but drawing on whatever architecture can provide in terms of the stable and lasting. The issue gives space and a new significance to other procedures for the use of parks and to a return to the opening up of housing to the city, as well as to experiments of circular economy that can be supported by a reinterpretation of urban morphology and the evaluation of a new way of understanding restoration.
